Alvargo Delivery remains the system of record for pricing, shipment state, tenant boundaries, permission checks, and audit records.

Give a trusted AI client only the shipper operations you explicitly authorize. Credentials are tenant-bound, tool-scoped, time-limited, and revocable.
Keep the record authoritative
Alvargo Delivery validates protected requests and returns authoritative pricing and shipment outcomes. The AI client is not the booking system.

The hosted gateway uses stateless Streamable HTTP. The official NPM package supports compatible local stdio clients.

Is Alvargo MCP a replacement for Alvargo Delivery?
No. Alvargo Delivery is the authoritative platform for accounts, pricing, permissions, shipments, capacity, and audit records. The MCP gateway is a controlled protocol interface to those services.
Which MCP clients are supported?
The official local client is published for compatible stdio-based tools, including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf. The hosted gateway uses Streamable HTTP at https://alvargo.net/api/mcp.
Can an AI agent create a shipment?
Only when an approved shipper key explicitly permits the relevant protected tool. The key is tenant-bound, scoped, time-limited, revocable, and validated by Alvargo Delivery.
Is OAuth available?
OAuth for hosted private tools is a planned Phase 2 capability. The current protected-operation model uses scoped shipper keys.
